Google Nexus PlayerIn addition to Android 5.0, Nexus 6, and Nexus 9, Google on Wednesday also introduced the new Nexus Player streaming device. Powered by the all new Android TV platform, Nexus Player has been manufactured by Taiwan’s Asus.

Nexus Player is Google Cast Ready so you can cast your favorite entertainment from almost any Chromebook or Android or iOS phone or tablet to your TV,” stated Google in a blog post.

Nexus Player includes most of what Android has to offer – apps, games, multimedia capabilities and more, making it a perfect living room device.

Sporting a disc-like design, the Nexus Player runs on Android TV platform and features 1.8GHz Intel Atom quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of on-board storage, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.1. The device also packs 1080p HDMI-out, MicroUSB 2.0, and a remote with voice-search support. Google will also be offering an optional gamepad for Nexus Player, which includes the usual controls.
