HTC launches Desire 820, 820Q and 816G Android phones in India

HTC Desire 820HTC on Tuesday announced the launch of three new Desire-series Android smartphones in the Indian market at a press event in New Delhi. The new Desire 820, 820Q and 816G will be joining the company’s growing device portfolio in the country.

Originally unveiled at IFA trade fair, the HTC Desire 820 sports 5.5-inch 720p HD display and is powered by Qualcomm’s 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor. The phone also comes with 13MP rear camera, 8MP front shooter, dual-SIM support, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, microSD card slot and Android 4.4. HTC has stated that it will get the Android L update.

On the other hand, the Desire 820Q is powered by 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor. Rest of the specifications are same as Desire 820. HTC has also noted that both Desire 820 and 820Q come with 4G LTE/ 3G support on both SIM card slots.

Lastly, the Desire 816G is a brand new variant of the company’s previously released Desire 816. The smartphone packs 5.5-inch HD display, 1.3GHz MediaTek quad-core processor, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front shooter, and dual-SIM support.
Pricing and availability

According to HTC, the Desire 816G will retail for INR 18,990 but there is no word on the pricing of Desire 820 and 820Q smartphones, which will be revealed closer to the launch date. The Desire 816G will go on sale early-October, while the Desire 820 and 820Q will released in early-November.
