Samsung on Saturday unveiled the new Galaxy Alpha smartphone for the Indian market at a press event in New Delhi. The smartphone has been priced at INR 39,990 and will be available beginning next week i.e. first week of October.
Originally introduced in mid-August, the Galaxy Alpha is Samsung’s first smartphone to sport a metal frame. The smartphone comes with a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED HD display, 1.8GHz Exynos 5 Octa processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage and 4G LTE support. The Alpha runs on Android 4.4 and includes Samsung’s usual software enhancements like Ultra-Power saving mode, S Health, Private mode, Download Booster, Quick Connect and more.
Among other specifications, Samsung has included a 12MP rear camera on the smartphone along with a 2.1MP front shooter. In addition, the Galaxy Alpha features a fingerprint scanner, NFC connectivity and heart-rate monitor. You can check out the detailed specifications at the end of the report.
According to Samsung, Galaxy Alpha will be released in White, Black and Gold colour options in the country.

Data offers: Samsung has stated that it has partnered with Airtel to provide free data to the Galaxy Alpha buyers. According to the company, the Airtel users in 4G circles will get 5GB of free data for two months and the Airtel users in 3G circles will get 2GB of free data for two months.
