  1. Redmi 1S has great specs for the price.
I am glad that they released 1s (SD 400 processor) rather than 1 (MTK processor).

    4.7 inch 720p display,
    SD 400 processor,
1 GB RAM, 8 GB memory, SD card upto 64GB,
8 MP camera, 1.6 MP front cam,

If you check the specs it has same specs as Moto G but priced at half of it.
Redmi 1S is better than Moto E which is a huge seller in every way.

Only worry is software but MIUI is praised by many reviewers and hope they keep improving the OS without major stability issues.

  2. How come Redmi 1S is an entry-level smartphone ?? It’s Specs are better than Samsung Galaxy S3….. !

  3. I’ll say this – if you trust Xiaomi as a company and their after sales service, there is absolutely no reason to ever buy another cell-phone at any price range.

You want inexpensive? You got the Redmi 1s with better specs than the Moto G. You want an inexpensive phablet? You got the Redmi Note (although that should have got the same Snapdragon 400 from the 1s rather than the MTK Octa).

And what it you want best-in-class performance? Well, you got the Mi3 for under 14K!!! And what’s more, it also sees official CM releases!

So unless you absolutely want LTE, you’ve no reason to look anywhere else – unless again – you struggle with trust issues with a four year old Chinese startup.

    1. There is no CM Rom available for Mi3. I did searched for it on XDA and other forums. Also found that kernel source code for Mi3 is not yet released by Xiaomi. This is the only worrying factor for me.

  4. Time for likes of Samsung & HTC to act quickly else they are going to fail miserably. However Xiaomi has to provide good after sale service to make a mark.
