Samsung announces four new Android smartphones in Galaxy line-up

Expanding its Galaxy line-up of Android smartphones, the Korean manufacturer Samsung today took the wraps off four new smartphones. The new Galaxy Core II, Galaxy Ace 4, Galaxy Young 2, and Galaxy Star 2 belong to the company’s mid-range and entry-level smartphone portfolio.

The company has not revealed any details about the pricing or availability right now but we expect to hear more in the coming weeks.

Starting with Samsung Galaxy Core II, which is the most powerful phone out of the four, it features a 4.5-inch WVGA display, 768MB of RAM, 1.2GHz quad-core processor and 2000 mAh battery. Galaxy Ace 4 sports a 4-inch WVGA display and is powered by 1.2GHz dual-processor. It will be released in two variants – LTE and 3G, both pack slightly different specifications.

Coming to Samsung Galaxy Young 2, this successor to the company’s previously launched Galaxy Young includes 3.5-inch HVGA display, 1GHz single-core processor, 1300 mAh battery and 512MB of RAM. Lastly, Galaxy Star 2, which will be most affordable phone out of the lot, also features 3.5-inch HVGA display and 1GHz processor.

All new Galaxy smartphones are equipped with Samsung’s TouchWiz Essence interface and the run on Android 4.4.
