  1. Actually I can’t update whenever I update it gives me an error tried it many times I actually even did a factory reset but still. Does rooting your device and then full unroofing affect the phones os?? please do reply ASAP

    1. hi rishi..,i had the same prob and here u go–*solution*–“before u update with ‘298mb’ file u must first download and install a ‘4mb’ file OTA(over the air) u can do that by clicking on “check for updates” under “SYSTEM UPDATES” .After that u can get kitkat either OTA or using a PC.
      thank me later 🙂

      1. I did that 4mb update too.! even then i got the same error.. I called xolo and enquired.. It seems it was unstable version and the asked to wait for the stable one

      2. Hi,

While updating I am getting the following error:

        Warning:
        No file_contextsVerifying current system…

        “/system/bin/app_process” has unexpected contents.

        Update.zip is not correct.

        Installation aborted

Some people have faced this error when they have installed xposed framework. But there’s no such thing in my case, still I am not able to update my OS in Q1010i. Please help

      3. hey,bhavesh…mine isn’t rooted too, so don’t panic (–_–).
        i’ll just tell u what i did:
1.downloaded the ‘298mb’ file from xolo update website.
        2.clicked settings->about phone->check for updates.
        3.then a message popped up showing–“new update available(4mb)”. i clicked on it 🙂
4.and then my phone rebooted extracting and unpacking the updates.
5.i placed the “UPDATE.ZIP(298MB)” file in my sd card. (note–don’t place it under any sub-folder)
6.then went to “XOLO CARE app”–>swipe to the left-> then click check for updates then click continue.

        ~~TA DA~~ 😀

personal opinion — u dont really have to upgrade it to ‘kit kat’ u can stick with ‘jelly bean’ if u like it i’ll tell u some of the advantages–
^*improved my sound quality which was fluctuating before
^*uses less ram and also increased my battery life by 20min(tried playing dead space + watching a video at the same time”gplayer”).
        ^*and u can look like a coolest kid in ur school/college with kitkat–that’s why i did it :p 😉 .

      4. Hi Pavan,
I am not able to see any 4 mb update. I received a 4 mb update initially and I installed it.After that also I was not able to install the 298MB update. then I reset my phone to factory settings. Aftar factory reset I am not able to see the 4 mb update at all and 298 mb update is giving error (even when I instal from sd card) :(:(!!

      5. oh….wait i think i get ur problem.
When u click -“check for updates”- u must get any one of these :-
1.”Already up to date no new updates available”
        2.”new update available (**mb)”
        3. If it checks for updates and then closes without any message–“U R DOING IT WRONG!!(–_–)”

if ur problem is no.3 u must keep trying again, and again, and again 😀 u’ll get the message…, Eventually 🙂

btw dont keep the update.zip file in ur sdcard or ur phone storage while doin this.

      6. i have rooted my phone and installed xposed framework.. do i need to uninstall them before i proceed with the updation process..?
