Moto E out of stock

Within 17 hours of going on sale at Flipkart, Motorola’s new Moto E smartphone has gone out of stock. The phone was originally launched at 00:01AM earlier today and both White and Black versions of the phone are now being shown as sold out.

There is no word on when Flipkart will be getting the new stock but if Moto G launch is any indication, we can expect to see more Moto E units in a week or so.

As per the import data available at Zauba.com, Flipkart had imported over 55,000 units of the Moto E in the days leading up to the launch on Tuesday. So, it seems like the e-retailer has sold all or most of these units (we still need an official confirmation).

To remind you, Moto E is the latest mass market Android phone from Motorola. It has been priced at INR 6,999 in the country and comes with dual-SIM support, 4.3-inch qHD display, Snapdragon 200 dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM. The phone also packs 5MP rear camera, 1980 mAh battery, Android 4.4.2 and microSD card slot.

This isn’t first time a Motorola product has gone out of stock at Flipkart within hours of launch. Earlier, Moto G was sold out within just 15 minutes of going on sale. The retailer then got new stock, which also didn’t last a day.

Update 1: Flipkart has started showing the phone as available again. If you were planning to order the phone, order it now before it goes out of stock again.

Update 2: Flipkart has now officially announced that Moto E is finally out of stock but it will be back soon. Let us know in the comments if you were able to buy the phone.

Update 3: Read this report for newer developments on Moto E stock status at Flipkart.

Update 4: Flipkart has recieved new stock but it is using this stock to ship the existing order and is not taking new orders right now.

Update 5: Moto E is back in stock at Flipkart.

Note: The report has been updated with a new number of Moto E units imported by Flipkart.
