It is no surprise that Motorola is getting ready to release a successor to its critically acclaimed Moto X smartphone and now an unannounced Motorola smartphone XT912A has appeared on GFXBench, which might very well turn out to be the Moto X successor.

According to GFXBench database, Moto XT912A will feature a 5.2-inch full HD display, Android 4.4.3, 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and 2GB of RAM.  The phone will also come with 32GB of internal storage, 12MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, NFC, pedometer and the usual connectivity options.

While the GFXBench listing does not reveal the retail branding of the phone, a recent leak from @evleaks suggests that it could be dubbed as Moto X+1, which is a surprisingly odd name for a smartphone.Moto X+1

There is no word on when Moto X+1 aka XT912A will be announced or go on sale but we expect to see an announcement around June-July.

Motorola is also rumoured to be working on a budget smartphone called Moto E and a phablet called Moto X Play. In addition, Motorola has already announced that it is launching an Android Wear smartwatch called Moto 360, which is expected in Q3 around the same time as LG’s G Watch.

The company finally seems to be gaining momentum and it was clear in a recent announcement from the company CEO Rick Osterloh, which revealed that Motorola has sold 6.5 million devices in the Q1 of 2014. We hope that this momentum continues after the Lenovo acquisition, which is nearing completion and we expect to hear an announcement in the coming weeks.

  1. Like mentioned in GS*****A, it should probably be a successor to DROID RAZR XT912 and not Moto X. But still, nice title to lure in traffic.

    1. Don’t believe everything they write @ GS*****A. Droid RAZR was released in 2011 and its successor “Droid RAZR HD XT926” arrived in 2012 and a successor to DROID RAZR HD was released in 2013 with the name “DROID Ultra XT1080”

So, no XT912A is not a successor to Droid RAZR and if you have read AndroidOS.in before today, you would have noticed that we never put headline for the sake of traffic.

      1. Cool. For a second, thought that they were the only passionate and ethical guys. Please keep up the great work !

  2. definitely not a X successor. X+1 or whatever they call it most likely will stick to same screen size but with 1080p and similar semi-custom SOC. motorola just want a pie of the phablet market.

    1. As per rumours, the upcoming Motorola phablet will have 6-inch or 6.1-inch display, so I don’t think that this is going to be their designated “phablet”. 5.2-inches has become common for flagship smartphones and with an edge-to-edge display, they can put 5.2-inch display in a decent sized smartphone.
