iBall Andi 5T Cobalt 2Indian computer peripherals maker iBall has released a new Android smartphone in the country. Part of the company’s Andi line-up, the smartphone is dubbed as Andi 5T Cobalt 2 and will go on sale in the coming days.

Featuring dual-SIM support, the smartphone comes with 5-inch HD display, 1.3GHz quad-core processor (most probably MediaTek), 1GB of RAM, and 1750 mAh battery. The phone also comes with Android 4.2, 4GB of internal storage, microSD card slot and 3G support.  On the imaging front, there is a 12MP rear camera on-board as well as a 2MP front camera.

The company has also included a host of software customisations on the smartphone like Flip to Mute, Smart Answer, Shake to Answer and Voice trigger for capture in camera support.

While the specs look great on-paper, it would have been better if iBall had included a newer version of Android on the device as Android 4.2 has become quite old.

Pricing

iBall Andi 5T Cobalt 2 has been priced at INR 11,999, which is a decent pricing given the specifications.

  1. Come on guys! Stop making android phones with 4.2! Launch with 4.4 or at least 4.3. Given the fact that this companies never ever going to give any updates , why not trying launching with latest version.

    1. These phones will be history anyways once Asus releases the Zenfone 5. Cheaper yet faster and with guaranteed Kit-Kat. And that too from a world class brand. 🙂

      1. Ya agreed! Looks like you have been waiting so eagerly for Zenfone from Asus for a long time 🙂 , just like some of us (including myself) waited for Moto G so desperately for its launch. Lets hope Asus launch it in India soon, guess they have launched in China already few days back.

      2. Yes, I am LOL! And it took you this long to get why I’ve turned into a ZF evangelist after all the excited pro-ZF comments I’ve been posting all over the place? 😛

But in all seriousness, desperately need to upgrade from my tiny little 3 year old Optimus One. Great phone, still giving me decent service, but yeah, it’s gotta go. Need a bigger, faster device.

Actually, they’re going to launch it in China on the 11th. Hopefully coming to India by the end of this month. Sooner the better.

Of course, once the final retail versions are out (wherever in the world), I’ll check the reviews before deciding on it, but if the initial reviews are anything to go by, I think Asus will probably get a little chunk of my money in the coming weeks LOL. 😀

      3. Yes I saw you posting about Asus ZF on almost every article 😀 , wanted to ask this long back! Just got the time 🙂 and I do think that it will be a great phone.. Cheers! 🙂

  2. i want to buy iball andi 5t cobalt 2..anybody tell me is it a good choice to buy…

  3. I am using it. for the price (9255 Rs), it is good phone. Only drawback is battery life. for that you can purchase additional power bank. rest all are fine. You can upgrade it to Kitkat but somewhere I read that Kitkat version drain your battery quickly so stick to 4.2 only
