HTC Desire 700HTC has reduced the price of its Desire 700 smartphone in the Indian market recently. The phone is now retailing for INR 22,199 at various e-retailers and brick and mortar stores. It was originally launched at INR 33,050 just over two months ago.

This is a huge price-cut but we still think that even at the reduced price, the phone is not value for money. Desire 700 competes with Samsung’s Galaxy Grand 2, which offers better specifications at a lower-price-tag. Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 is currently selling at INR 21,499.

To remind you, Desire 700 comes with 5-inch qHD display, dual-SIM support (dual-active, GSM + CDMA), 1.2GHz quad-core processor, and 2100 mAh battery. It also packs 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, and microSD card slot. On the imaging front, HTC has included 8MP rear camera, 2.1MP front camera, and LED flash.

Will you be considering Desire 700 at the new price-tag, let us know in comments.

  1. I think at this price it’s a best buy, comparing with Grand 2 its much better. Grand 2 only screen resolution is higher but from naked eye can’t make a difference, also Touchwiz is totally worse compare to SENSE as Touchwiz needs that extra .5 gb ram
Much better phone than Grand 2 , all Samsung phones looks same from Trend to Galaxy S5

    1. actually no. Grand 2 is overpriced but Desire 700 price was and still is just terrible.
the processor is weak. even though based on Cortex A7, same as Broadcom BCM23550 in Grand2, it loses to it in every single benchmark by a huge margin. the display is nothing to talk about. its plain LCD. not even S-LCD. resolution is qHD which is only suited for sub 15k mobile. Only the camera was the only part that worked as intended.

Now at 22k, Xperia SP, Ascend P6 which just thrash D700 left and right. Maybe the newly unveiled Desires will have something to talk about, provided HTC installs Sense in its marketing team rather than smartphones.

      1. @kaushiktalukdar:disqus Is Sony SP upgradable from present Jelly Bean??
Any other suggestion in price range of 20 to 25K…

      2. android 4.3 update info for SP has leaked so definitely its coming but i think thats it. no kitkat from sony.
i’ll vote ZR (2GB ram is becoming a must for HD or more resolution display) instead of SP unless you are trying to save some bucks. all other mobiles have weak h/w compared to ZR.

      1. Okey! How does that make some seance over a phone pricing? This is probably on of the most common lame reply when our desi friends don’t find a answer…LOL!

      2. One more fresh clean free idea for you! Go buy a Karbonn, or…mmm….okey Micromax or some Gaba phone! Seriously they are just so perfect for you. But you are not a HTC material, please.

  2. Are there any decent dual active cdma+gsm android phones since this
