Oppo N1Until only available via imports or third-party retailers, Oppo smartphones are finally ready to enter the Indian market. The company is hosting a press event on January 30 to launch the Oppo N1 in the country.

This flagship Android smartphone from the company will be the first Oppo device to reach Indian shores officially.

Oppo has roped in Hrithik Roshan and Sonam Kapoor to be its brand ambassadors in the country, who will also be unveiling N1 on Jan 30, as per an invite received by Gadgets to Use. According to a report in Financial Express, the duo has already finished shooting a commercial for the smartphone maker, which is expected to go live on the same day.

Originally introduced back in September 2013, Oppo N1 features a 5.9-inch full HD display, 2GB of RAM, 16/ 32GB of internal storage and 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor. An interesting feature of this smartphone is the 13MP rotating camera, which can be used both as a rear and front camera.

There is no word on pricing but we expect the phone to retail around INR 38-39,000 in the country.

    1. Manufacturers don’t ship with CM by default. To the best of my knowledge, CM sells the N1 CM edition by themselves by way of a licensing arrangement with Oppo. Since this one comes directly from Oppo themselves, and not CM, I’ll say colorOS it is 🙂

  1. Which phablet to buy at that price range? Samsung Galaxy Note 3 for 43K, LG G2 for 40K, Sony Xperia Z Ultra for 35K or the N1 for 38K? I’m not even mentioning Nokia’s Lumia 1520 because WP may not be everybody’s cup of tea.

Hmmm … tough choice. NOT! Why would I want the Oppo at 38K? This from a little known Chinese company (outside China) with no proper customer support or after sales service, when I can get the very best for cheaper!!

All the others mentioned actually have better specs than this one as well! All of them come with the Snapdragon 800 instead of the 600 in this one and the Note 3 has 3GB RAM. The only new feature that this one has is the rotating camera which I actually think is pretty awesome, when I first read about on verge, I think, but apart from that, it won’t even make sense for 28K IMO leave alone 38.

  2. so its the press conference for oppo n1 on 3oth jan , but when will the phone be available in the indian market so that i can buy it..
