Sony unveils Xperia Z1s for T-Mobile USA and SmartBand accessory

Sony Xperia Z1sAfter quite a few leaks, Sony’s Xperia Z1 is finally heading to T-Mobile USA in the form of Xperia Z1s. The smartphone was officially unveiled earlier today at CES 2014 in Las Vegas. Set to go on sale starting January 22 in stores, Xperia Z1s will be available for online pre-sales on January 13.

According to T-Mobile, Xperia Z1s will retail for $22 a month for 24 months with its zero down payment plan.

To remind you, on the specs-side, Xperia Z1s features a 5-inch full HD Triluminos display, 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM and 20.7MP rear camera. It also packs Android 4.3, water/ dust resistance, and 2MP front shooter.

In addition, there is 32GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, LTE support, and the usual set of connectivity options.

The device is complete with the best of Sony’s market leading technologies including the award-winning “G Lens”, 20.7 MP “Exmor RS for mobile” CMOS image sensor and “BIONZ for mobile” image processing engine,” Sony noted in a press release.

SmartBand accessory

Sony has also unveiled its new SmartWear Experience at CES, which includes accessories like SmartBand and Lifelog smartphone app.

According to Sony, SmartBand logs daily activities and presents them visually in the Lifelog application. It also notifies users for any notifications on the synced smartphone. Sony SmartBand

“When a call, message, or other notification comes in, the SmartBand will vibrate gently on your wrist to let you know. It also has LED indicators, which light up to show that the SmartBand is active. When you’re enjoying your music on the move, you can play, pause, and skip tracks using the SmartBand,” Sony explains in the press release.

It is also water-proof and packs a better life of upto five days. There is no word on pricing or availability.
