Samsung has started rolling out Android 4.3 update for Galaxy S III smartphone in the Indian market. The update is now available over-the-air as well as via Samsung Kies software, which can be downloaded from here.
This update will take the smartphone from Android 4.1.2 to Android 4.3, which brings features like Knox security platform (see update), Smart Switch, HomeSync, Group Play 2.5, updated user-interface and better DayDream feature.

You will automatically get an OTA notification on your phone but if you don’t want to wait, you can manually check for the update by going to Settings << About Phone << Software update << Check for updates. You can also update the phone via Kies.

Just updated via Kies..a bit odd that they didn’t give the ‘light’ effect option in lockscreen & the updated weather widget..both were available in galaxy grand 4.2.2..

I just tried vy going to about n manual chkd fr software update . It says latest software has already been installed
Even i face the same issue, am not getting ne updates as of now…
DO NOT DOWNLOAD!! Once you are tied into the Knox @#$, you cannot go back. If you like rooting your phone etc. just get Custom ROMs.
No Knox in the Indian update for S3
There’s no knox in the update.

I checked through kies and ota.. seems like no update available..
when trying S3 update 4.3 its showing failed to run firmware upgrade . unknown error occurred. wht i have to do now can help me with this

Disconnect cable from PC and In WIN 7 74 bit
Uninstall KIES completely along with drivers. Then Delete the Samsung folder under C:Program File (X86) , C:program files and C:USERSyour loginAppdataRoaming.
Then restart the system. Then reinstall KIES and try.
Similar should work for WIN 7 32 bit except for One Less Program Files Folder.
