After multitude of rumours and leaks, Vivo has taken the wraps off Xplay 3S. Featuring a 6-inch 2560x1440p QHD display, it is the world’s first smartphone to come with such high-resolution screen. We are expecting to see more smartphones with QHD displays in the coming year.
Vivo Xplay 3S also features 2.3 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 MSM8974AB processor, 3GB of RAM, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front shooter, 32GB of internal storage and fingerprint scanner. The phone also supports both FDD and TDD LTE bands, and comes with 3200 mAh battery, Android-based FunTouch OS and the usual set of connectivity options.
In addition, Xplay 3S packs ESS Technology’s ES9018 Audio DAC and Texas Instruments’ OPA2604 audio amplifier and comes with built-in DTS Headphone:X feature that brings 7.1 or even 11.1 surround sound effect to your stereo headphones.
The phone will soon be available on pre-order for 3498 yuan ($576) at Tmall.com but exact availability details are currently unclear. Vivo Xplay 3S will initially be released in China but Vivo has plans for global availability too.
