Geeksphone reveals key specs of its Android-Firefox OS dual-boot smartphone
Spanish smartphone vendor Geeksphone, which launched the first-ever Firefox OS smartphones, has revealed the key specifications of the upcoming Revolution smartphone. The final branding of the Geeksphone Revolution might be unclear at this moment but we now know what will be included in this smartphone.
According to Geekphone, this upcoming smartphone will be powered by 1.6GHz Intel Z2560 CloverTrail+ processor and will also come with 4.7-inch qHD IPS display, 2000 mAh battery, 8MP rear camera, and microSD card slot.
The phone buyers will have choice to boot Android (version unknown) or Firefox OS on their Revolution smartphone without worries of forfeiting their warranty. This will probably be the first such smartphone to offer dual-boot support out of the box after Ubuntu’s dual-boot Edge smartphone got scrapped following an unsuccessful crowdsourcing attempt.
Geeksphone notes that Revolution will ship sometime in the first quarter of 2014 but it has not revealed the pricing until now. The company is likely to sell the phone via its online store.
