Reports arriving from South Korea indicate that Samsung is planning to start mass producing the next Galaxy S smartphone beginning January 2014. Expected to be named Galaxy S5, the smartphone will probably go on sale in February or March of next year.
ET News is reporting that Samsung is working on two variants of Galaxy S5, one of which will come with metal body and curved display, another with plastic body and non-flexible AMOLED display. We would suggest you to take this scenario with a pinch of salt as not everything coming from South Korea is necessarily true.
In addition to the aforementioned two variants, the Samsung Galaxy S5 will include a 64-bit Exynos octa-core processor, 16MP rear camera, 3GB of RAM, 4000 mAh battery, Android 4.4. and 5-inch display.
The company will initially be producing 800,000 to 1 million units of the phone, which is expected to increase to 8-10 million by March of 2014.
ET News is also stating that Samsung will be introducing the next-generation Galaxy Gear watch with Galaxy S5. This smartwatch will thinner than the existing model and most-probably include more features.
