Meritnation launches official Android app in Google Play

MeritnationInfo Edge backed e-learning website Meritnation has released its official Android app in Google Play on Thursday. Available for free, this app allows users to read their class study material, answer questions and check revision notes.

The app gives users free access to one chapter in each subject and for the rest of the coursework, they need to become a paid member. Initially, the app only seems to be offering school curriculum related study material and not IIT, BBA, NDA, Medical entrance and all other study-material that Meritnation provides on its website.

During our brief usage, we found the app snappy and usable but the Facebook login was not working, which could be a temporary issue. There is also no way to become a paid member directly from the app and the app redirects users to the website for the same. Meritnation can use the in-app billing provided by Google Play to make the whole process seamless but the company at this time seems to be looking at the app as just another medium to offer content, which has already been purchased by the users.
