Pandora has issued a major update to its official Android app late Wednesday, which brings the much awaited Chromecast support and tablet user-interface among many changes.
“Today, we’re excited to share that Pandora is now available on Chromecast, Google’s new TV-connected device that wirelessly delivers online audio and video entertainment to the biggest screen in the home,” Tom Conrad of Pandora noted in a blog post.
“Owners of the Chromecast device can start casting Pandora today by downloading version 5.0 of our Android or iOS mobile app via Google Play and the App Store. Just use the Cast button in the standard Pandora app to trigger one-touch streaming of your favorite personalized radio stations to your TV via Chromecast,” he added.
In addition to the Chromecast support, you can expect to see the following changes:
- App interface is optimized for larger screens and features upgraded core Pandora functionality
- Explore more about the artist and album that is currently playing with enriched artist pages
- The Music Feed offers a centralized place to view music activity, making it easy to explore what friends and other listeners with similar musical tastes are discovering and enjoying on Pandora.
- Social sharing features are now easier than ever to navigate on Android tablets with the updated user interface.
