Karbonn launches four dual-SIM Android phones in India, priced starting INR 5,490

Karbonn announced the launch of four new Android smartphones in the country today. While two of the newly unveiled smartphones A16 and A99 are already on sale in the country, the other two A35 and A90 will be available shortly..

With the release of these phones, the company wants to capitalize the festival shopping season. “With money-savings being the in-word now, this festive range from Karbonn is aimed to bring in a completely novel vista of gifting for your loved ones,” the company said in a press release.

Talking about the phones, Karbonn A19 and A99 come with a 1.3GHz dual-core processor, Android 4.2, 4-inch WVGA IPS display, 5MP rear camera and microSD card slot. Both phones also come pre-loaded with Hungama My Play app, which offers 1 month unlimited access to Hungama content. The only difference between the two devices is their battery capacity, which is 1350 mAh in the case of A16 and 1400 mAh in A99.

Coming to Karbonn A90, the smartphone also features a 4-inch display but is powered by 1GHz processor. It also comes with 512MB of RAM, Android 4.0 and 1400 mAh battery. Lastly, Karbonn A35 packs a 5-inch qHD display, 1GHz dual-core processor, 512MB of RAM, 5MP rear camera, 4GB of storage and Android 4.0.

The company is hoping that the sales of these budget Android phones will help it increase its market share.

“Today, the mass phone market is one of the most significant growth drivers of the industry, and it is this market that we are targeting with our new smartphone range,” said Shashin Devsare, Executive Director, Karbonn.
