Samsung to introduce smartphone with curved display in October: Report

Samsung LogoSamsung is planning to launch a smartphone with curved display in the South Korean market next month, reports Reuters. The news agency is citing Samsung’s mobile business head of strategic marketing D.J. Lee, who reportedly confirmed the launch at the Galaxy Note 3 unveiling in Seoul.

There are no other details about this smartphone with curved display but we should hear more soon as October is not very far.

Samsung to release new super-premium Galaxy F-series of phones

In related news, reports originating from South Korea suggest that Samsung is planning to unveil a new smartphone series next year. Dubbed as Galaxy F-series, it will only house the most premium devices in Samsung’s Android portfolio.

According to a report in ET News, the first Galaxy F series phone will pack a metal body, 16MP rear camera, and octa-core processor. It will be introduced early next year.

We are taking this with a pinch of salt as the company already has a set pattern of two flagship smartphones each year- Galaxy S and Note and we won’t think the company would like to disrupt that for a new smartphone-series. Still, there is a market for ultra-premium devices and for a company whose portfolio ranges from $100 to $800, it won’t be very surprising to see it bring a $900-1000 phone.
