Within hours of getting announced by Google, HP has detailed its new Chromebook 14. According to the company, it will be priced starting $299.99, when it goes on sale ahead of the holiday season.
The new HP Chromebook 14 features a 14-inch 1366x768p WLED BrightView display, 4th generation Intel core processor, 16GB/ 32GB SSD, Wi-Fi, optional 4G support, an HDMI port, memory card slot, one USB 2.0, and one USB 3.0 port. It will be available in three colour options – snow white, ocean turquoise, and coral peach.
“There are customers telling us they are interested in new operating systems and in particular Chromebooks,” said Ron Coughlin, senior vice president and general manager, Consumer PCs, Services and Solutions, HP. “We built the HP Chromebook to offer a great experience, choice and affordability, with a design that is truly unique.”
HP is also including in 200MB of free 4G data per month from T-Mobile for two years with Chromebook 14. There is no word on the exact availability but it is going to be the first Intel Haswell powered Chromebook to go on sale.

Coming to the Acer’s new Chromebook, it packs a 11.6-inch 1366x768p display, 4th generation Intel core processor, HDMI port, two USB ports (one 3.0), Wi-Fi, an audio jack and an SD card slot. Other details are still a mystery and so is pricing.
All new Chromebooks will also get the usual 100GB of cloud storage for two years from Google Drive.
