Wow, this was fast. With hours of the Google’s invite release for July 24 event, there have been a string of leaks pertaining to the next Nexus 7 tablet. While the actual name of this Nexus 7 successor still remains a mystery, it is almost confirmed that we will see the announcement of Nexus 7 II on July 24 and the tablet will go on sale immediately, reports Engadget.
The tech blog has got its hands over some internal documents from Officemax, which suggest that the retailer will get the first stock of Nexus 7 II on July 20 and they would probably put it on sale right after the official announcement.
This leak also confirms the pricing of the new Nexus 7 tablet, which was first reported late Wednesday. Nexus 7 successor will be priced at $229.99 for the 16GB version and $269.99 for the 32GB version. There is no word on whether a 3G version of the tablet will be released initially or not.
In related news, a separate leak has given us the first look at the upcoming new Nexus 7 tablet. A person with access to the tablet has sent out a few images as well as a video of the tablet to Android Central. While the images aren’t really great, they still give us an idea of what to expect in the final build.
The specs accompanying the leak talk about the presence of Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor in the tablet, which in contrast to the Snapdragon 600 presence noted by Bluetooth SIG, we would rather wait for the official announcement to get the official details.
