MTS India has announced the launch of a new Android smartphone on its network today. Dubbed as MTS Duet, the phone is being targeted to the entry-level segment or first time smartphone buyers. The phone features dual-SIM support with both GSM and CDMA network connectivity on-board.
The smartphone is in no way exciting and packs some really outdated specifications like Snapdragon S1 processor and Android 2.3. Other features of the phone include 3.5-inch HVGA display, 256MB RAM and 512MB of ROM.
“The latest in our range of smartphones is MTS Duet. The smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon S1 processor and runs on the Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform. Aimed at tech-savvy youth, it comes bundled with aggressive high speed data and voice plans,” MTS India Chief Marketing and Sales officer Leonid Musatov said.
According to a press release issued by MTS India, MTS Duet has been priced at INR 4,799 and comes with unlimited talk time for local calls and unlimited data service for the first two months for a recharge of INR 599.
The company also revealed that is plans to launch more smartphones this year but did not reveal any details about them.
