HTC, LG to introduce new flagship smartphones in Q3, 2013
Adding to the already circulating rumours, Digitimes is reporting that HTC and LG plan to introduce new flagship smartphones in the second half of the year. The phones will be announced sometime in Q3 to be precise.
As per the report, both companies want to be ready for the next Apple iPhone, which should be arriving around the same time.
The report further adds that LG will be introducing Optimus G2 as its next flagship, which will be a successor to the company’s current flagship smartphone – Optimus G. The phone is expected to come with a 5-inch full HD display and quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor.
On the other hand, HTC is rumoured to bring Butterfly 2 in the second half of the year. The phone will be succeeding company’s previously released HTC Butterfly, which was a surprise success for the company. The phone will pack a full HD display of unknown size and include software enhancements like BlinkFeed from HTC One.
HTC Butterfly 2 is also expected to feature Boomsound speakers and Ultrapixel sensor in the rear camera. There is no word on the processor, but we can expect it to be Snapdragon 800.
