Alleged specs of Google Nexus 7 successor appear online
It has long been rumoured that Google is expected to announce its successor to the Nexus 7 tablet at this year’s Google I/O event. Now, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has shared a list of expected Nexus 7 II specifications to his clients, which gives us a decent idea of what to expect from this device.
According to Kuo, the new Nexus 7 tablet will keep the $199 price tag and feature a 1920x1200p full HD OGS (One Glass Solution) display. The tablet is also reportedly coming with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor. It is the same processor, which is present in HTC One and a variant of Galaxy S4 smartphone.
The tablet will support Wireless charging, and pack 5MP rear camera, front HD camera, NFC, 4,000 mAh battery and Android 4.3.
We have heard about some of these specifications in the past too, so overall most of the note makes sense, and we expect to same specifications in the final Nexus 7 II unit.
Kou also adds that thanks to these high-end specifications, Google will lose $5-10 on each tablet, which the company will likely to cover from content sales and advertising.
Apart from the Nexus 7 II, Kuo added in his note that Google is also planning to launch an AndroidBook, TV box and a smartwatch, but these will appear later in the year.
