All is not well with Samsung Galaxy S4 inventory in the United States. At least two telecom operators have revealed that the availability of Samsung Galaxy S4 on their networks will be slightly delayed. These telcos are T-Mobile and Sprint.
Sprint stated on its community website that it is not ready to release Galaxy S4 on the previously announced date of April 27 in its retail channels, however the phone will still go on sale via its website and tele-sales as scheduled. It seems Sprint is getting a very-very limited inventory, so instead of passing one-two phones to the retail stores, it is keeping the inventory for online and tele sales and retail channels will get the stocks as soon as Samsung gives more to the telecom operator.
Here is the complete Sprint statement:
Sprint is excited to launch the new Samsung Galaxy 4. We had planned to launch this next generation of the award-winning Samsung Galaxy line-up on Saturday, April 27. Unfortunately, due to unexpected inventory challenges from Samsung, we will be slightly delayed with our full product launch. Sprint is one of Samsung’s largest partners and we are working closely with them to launch in all Sprint channels as soon as possible. We expect to make GS4 available at http://www.sprint.com and Telesales (1-800-SPRINT1) as planned on Saturday with Sprint retail stores and other channels receiving devices as inventory becomes available.
On the other hand, T-Mobile has revealed that the online orders, which were expected to begin today, have been pushed to April 29. Retail availability is expected to remain as scheduled – beginning May 1.
Here is full T-Mobile statement:
We know customers are really looking forward to getting their new Samsung Galaxy S 4 soon. However, due to an unexpected delay with inventory deliveries, the Galaxy S 4 will not be available on http://www.T-Mobile.com as planned on Wednesday, April 24. Instead, online availability is expected to begin on Monday, April 29. We apologize for any inconvenience and are working with Samsung to deliver the device to T-Mobile customers as soon as possible.
On the Verizon front, the telecom operator today finally announced that it will start taking pre-orders for Samsung Galaxy S 4 tomorrow.
AT&T Galaxy S 4 is still on schedule – April 25th launch for pre-order customers, and in-stores on April 27th.
