To pack Snapdragon 800, 16/ 20MP camera, 5-inch full HD display
Sony is rumoured to be working on a new smartphone codenamed Honami, which will be the company’s 2013 H2 flagship. There are some really juicy reports circulating around the smartphone and they paint a very great picture of the phone.
Many of these specs are a little hard to believe, but given Sony’s recent attempts to get back in the smartphone game, we won’t be surprised to see them become a reality.
According to a member of Baidu forums, Sony Honami will be the company’s One Sony model with best Sony technologies in one phone. It is allegedly coming with 5-inch full HD display and dedicated Walkman audio chip (S-Master MX Digital Amplifier?).
The forum poster adds that it will be Sony’s most attractive smartphone till date and will be released around July in Asia, followed by global release in August/ September.
Chinese website ePrice adds some more details about the phone, but similar to Baidu post, they are too just rumours. According to ePrice, the phone might come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor, which recently went in to mass production. The phone will also reportedly pack Adreno 330 GPU, 2GB of RAM and 2700/ 3100 mAh battery. The website also claims that Sony Honami will feature a 20 MP rear camera with xenon flash.
VR Zone on the other hand is more excited about the display in the phone, which according to the website is Triluminos display – an exclusive display technology from the Japanese manufacturer. You can read more about Triluminos display on VR-Zone.
The site however notes that the camera in the phone is just 16MP, not 20MP as suggested by ePrice. We are inclined to believe VR-Zone compared to ePrice.
