Samsung details the nine sensors present in Galaxy S4
It is no secret that Samsung Galaxy S 4 packs quite a number of sensors on-board including a Barometer and Temperature/ Humidity sensor. Now, the company has revealed that there are a total of nine sensors on board its latest flagship smartphone and detailed their roles in phone’s features via an info-graphic.
Most of the modern smartphones come with some common sensors like accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer and proximity sensor, which are necessary to provide some practical features, but Samsung has taken it to a whole new level.
“The GALAXY S4 has seamlessly combined nine sensors and a wide array of recognition technologies that understand user behavior, thus delivering an effortless user experience, making things convenient and hassle-free. This goes beyond simple functions like making phone calls and running applications; users can focus on themselves and loved ones, with the GALAXY S4 working with them to strip away the complications of life,” Samsung noted in a blog post.
Samsung also notes that despite having so many sensors on-board, the battery-backup of the phone will not be affected. According to the company, Galaxy S4 comes with Micro Controller Unit (MCU) that activates the application processor (AP) only when needed and makes it possible to control the sensors without activating AP. As a result, the power consumption of GALAXY S4 is optimized.
