Micromax seems to be planning to launch a 3D Android smartphone in the Indian market. Dubbed as A115 Canvas 3D, the smartphone has been leaked in multiple images. There is no word on the exact release date; however it is likely to be priced under INR 15,000.
Various smartphone makers like HTC and LG have launched 3D smartphones, but we are yet to see any one of them succeed. Can Micromax do what others could not by launching a phone with decent specs and attractive pricing, we will see in a few days.
According to reports online, Micromax A115 Canvas 3D will come with a 5-inch WVGA display with 3D support. The phone will be powered by MediaTek’s MT6577 dual-core processor. Among other features, A115 will pack 8MP rear camera, front camera and Android 4.1. You can see the full list of expected Micromax A115 Canvas 3D specs later in the post.
According to Twitter user MMXNewscaster, which is the source of these leaks, Micromax will also be launching a Canvas HD successor in the form of A120 Canvas 3. The smartphone is rumoured to come with 5-inch HD Super AMOLED display, and quad-core processor. A120 will also pack a 13MP rear camera and Android 4.2. Turns out the A120 part is not correct and it was April Fools’ jock from the MMXNewscaster, the A115 Canvas 3D still very much exists.
While there is no way to authenticate these reports, given the leaks, we are inclined to believe the presence of Micromax A115 Canvas 3D, not so sure about A120 Canvas 3.
