Samsung to release upgraded Galaxy S III; better display, 2400 mAH battery in tow
Everyone might be waiting for Galaxy S IV, but reports are coming in suggesting that Samsung is also going to announce an upgraded version of Galaxy S III. There is no word on when this version will be released, but it might take some time to reach stores.
According to Russian insider Eldar Murtazin, the upgraded Samsung Galaxy S III will come with a better display, wireless charging support and 2,400 mAh battery. We are not sure what does he mean by a better screen, may be with full HD resolution, but that seems unlikely.
Given the past track record of Samsung, this is not at all surprising and company has often released upgraded versions of its popular Galaxy S series smartphones.
Other details are not available at the moment about the upgraded version, but we might also see an overclocked processor and 2GB RAM (some variants of S3 already have 2GB RAM).
Expected specs of upgraded Samsung Galaxy S III:
- 4.8-inch Super AMOLED HD display
- Wireless charging
- Android 4.2 Jelly Bean
- 2400 mAh battery
- 8MP rear camera
- 1.9MP front camera
- 1.6 GHz Cortex-A9 Quad-core Exynos 4412 Quad processor
- 2GB RAM
To remind you, Samsung is going to unveil Galaxy S IV tomorrow in New York and the smartphone will be company’s flagship model for this year. Samsung is doing everything to create hype around the announcement. In the same bid, company released another video yesterday. Check it out below. I must warn you, there is nothing S4 related in this.
