LG Optimus 4X HD, L7 to get Jelly Bean update this month: LG Germany

LG Optimus 4X HD_1LG Germany has revealed that two of its Optimus series smartphone will be getting Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update this month. These smartphones are Optimus 4X HD and Optimus L7.

We are sure right now if this is valid of other markets too globally, but it should not take more time to reach other markets too.  The unlocked devices will be first to get the update, followed by carrier-branded smartphones.

LG noted in a blog post that the update will be available via company’s mobile support tool, which can downloaded from company’s support website.

The Jelly Bean update will bring Project Butter improvements, better responsiveness, Google Now, better notifications, offline voice-typing, faster NFC transmission through Android Beam 2.0, and Wi-Fi protected setup.

To remind you, LG Optimus 4X HD and Optimus L7 were both announced at Mobile World Congress last year and originally launched with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

In related news, LG recently started rolling-out the same update for Optimus L9 smartphone in parts of Europe and Asia-Pacific.

  1. It has always been advertised that the LG L7 would get the 4.1.2 update at the end of March. And it’s March 30th already with the update NOWHERE in sight at all. I have checked every hour during the day today and yet it seems that LG came out with another no show or DELAY in yet another Android OS. Just shows that Samsung and there phones and company are far more superior than the rest. Looks like it’s time to get out of LG’s BS and go for the most reliable side which is Samsung!
