LG-Optimus-F-SERIES2Hours after the leaked images, LG has made the new F-series smartphones official. The Korean manufacturer today took the wraps off Optimus F5 and Optimus F7 Android phones. According to LG, Optimus F5 will go on sale in the second quarter in Europe, followed soon by the Optimus F7 in selected markets.

“With adoption of LTE expected to explode in 2013, we are sending a clear message to consumers with the Optimus F Series that LTE isn’t just for heavy content users and techies anymore. It’s for everyone,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.

Talking about the smartphones, LG Optimus F5 features Android 4.1.2, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 4.3-inch IPS display and 2150 mAh battery. The smartphone also comes with 8GB of internal storage, 1GB RAM and microSD card slot.  For your imaging needs, LG has built-in a 5MP auto-focus rear camera and 1.3MP front camera.

Coming to Optimus F7, the smartphone comes with Android 4.1.2, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 4.7-inch True HD IPS display and 2540 mAh battery. The phone also features 8 GB of internal storage, 2GB RAM and microSD card slot. On the camera front, LG Optimus F7 packs 8MP auto-focus rear camera, and 1.3MP front camera.

Both the smartphone also support 4G LTE connectivity and include upgraded QSlide and Live Zooming features.

“The upgraded QSlide allows users to open two apps at the same time, both in full screen mode. Users can change the size, position and transparency of QSlide apps according to their preferences,” LG noted in press release. On the other hand, Live Zooming allows the user to zoom into a specific area while watching a video.
