Thanks to a confirmation by Samsung’s JK Shin, we already know that Samsung is going to launch an 8-inch Galaxy Note tablet at the upcoming Mobile World Congress. Now, we are hearing that the tablet might be priced $249-$299 to compete with Apple’s iPad Mini.
The pricing leak is coming from Digitimes, which also reported today that Samsung’s next 7-inch tablet might be priced at $149-$199. While, we are less inclined to believe the seven-inch tablet pricing, the Note 8.0 pricing does seem right as we have heard similar rumours in the past too.
With 8-inch display, Samsung is clearly aiming for iPad Mini and it would need to price the tablet below $300 to better take on Apple’s smaller tab, which costs $329. According to a leaked Samsung roadmap, Note 8.0 is set to go on sale in March and will come with 8-inch 1280x800p display, 1.6GHz quad-core processor, 16GB of internal storage, and Jelly Bean.
Being a Note series device, it will also come with S-Pen support and customized apps to better utilize the stylus. We are actively tracking the news and will update, if we learn something new.
