Google to launch upgraded Nexus 10 at MWC? We deem unlikely

nexus-10Tech media is abuzz with rumours of an upcoming Nexus 10 version that will sport beefed up processor and GPU. Although, there is no evidence to support these claims, Bright Side of News is claiming to have heard about this new Nexus 10 version at the recently concluded Nexus 10 tablet.

The publication anticipates a Mobile World Congress announcement about this tablet, which is reportedly now come with a new multi-core processor (unknown) and Mali T678 GPGPU. Other specs are expected to remain the same.

Here is some info about Mali T678:

The ARM Mali-T678 GPU offers the highest GPU compute performance available in the Mali-T600 Series of products, delivering a four-fold increase when compared with the Mali-T624 GPU through features such as increased ALU support. This brings a wide range of performance points to address the vibrant tablet market. The Mali-T678 offers energy-efficient high-end visual computing applications, such as computational photography, multi perspective views and augmented reality.

While we think that it is highly unlikely that Google will be releasing a refreshed version of the Nexus 10 so soon, which sent on sale about two months ago, if true the newer Nexus 10 will be ready to compete with the rumoured upcoming iPad refresh.

To remind you, the current Nexus 10 version features a 10.1-inch 2560x1600p display, Exynos 5 Dual processor, Mali T604-Class GPU, Android 4.2, rear camera, front camera, and 2GB RAM.
