Two different sets of LG Nexus smartphone images emerge online (Update)
Last night was full of Nexus leaks and for the first time, we got a chance to see what the purported LG-made Nexus might look like as two totally different set of Nexus images were leaked on the web.
The first set, which was posted on XDA forums but removed later, showcased blurry images of a phone looking very similar to LG Optimus G. Carrying the model number E960 and codename Mako, the device was running on Android 4.1.2, which is slightly odd because all the rumours till now have suggested that the new Nexus will come with Android 4.2. We have seen that many rumours have turned out to be fake in the last few days, so it is very possible that there is no Android 4.2 right now and the new Nexus might emerge running on Android 4.1.2.
The other set of LG Nexus images were posted on a Russian forum, but these images were totally different from the ones posted on XDA. The images on Russian forum sport a curvier and Galaxy Nexus-type of design.
This device also carries the codename Mako, so it is possible that both are pre-production prototypes of the LG Nexus smartphone and Google/LG later decided to go with one they liked the most, but which one is the question right now.
The Mako code-name seems credible as in the past all the Nexus devices have been codenamed after fish names and Mako is a type of Shark.
So, right now we have two different LG Nexus smartphones but we are not sure which one is going to be launched in the early-November. We hope to see more leaks in the days to come with further clarity on the smartphone.
Coming to the specs, previous reports have suggested that we will see a 4.7-inch 1280×768 display, 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 2GB RAM and 8/13MP rear camera.
Update: As Abhi pointed out in comments, the phone in XDA images seems to be sporting some kind of a case, so it is possible that the design in Russian forum images is the actual design.
And also, it seems to be Belarusian forum not Russian as some other blogs have mentioned, does not really matter, the language was Russian, so we thought it was a Russian forum.
