Forget the birds, now play as the pigs in Bad Piggies from Rovio
Rovio has been quite regular with updates to its Angry Birds franchise. And just when we thought that the Finnish gaming studio had nothing else left to explore with its popular franchise, they proved us wrong.
Now Rovio is bringing a reversed tale of sorts. It is launching a new game called “Bad Piggies” scheduled to release on September 27. The game will let you play from the green swine perspective “with all new, never-before-seen gameplay and not a slingshot in sight!”.
Sharing his thoughts on this new angle,Petri Järvilehto, EVP Games at Rovio said, “We’ve had a lot of fun creating a totally new and unique gameplay experience. There’s so much more to these pigs than what is seen in the Angry Birds games, and Bad Piggies is the first glimpse into what’s going on in the imaginative and ingenious minds of the pigs.”
A promotional video for Bad Piggies titled “Something PIG is coming”, features an angry red bird coming under attack by dozens of pigs falling from the sky.
Bad Piggies is Rovio’s third new title for 2012. The studio first launched Angry Birds Space in March which was a phenomenal success. The game, which was based on the laws of physics, received an update in June with 10 additional levels of gameplay.
A month later, Rovio unveiled a brand new title called Amazing Alex, a physics-based puzzler with over 100 levels.
While Android, iOS and Mac users can enjoy the game on September 27 itself, windows Phone, Windows 8 and PC fans will have to wait a bit longer.
