Barnes & Noble announces Nook HD, Nook HD+ tablets in US, UK
Barnes and Noble has announced two new Android tablets for the US and UK markets earlier today. These tablets run on a forked version of Android 4.0 with B&N’s custom interface on-top and have no access to Google Play or Google suite of applications.
“With more than three million books, a large selection of magazines and applications, NOOK Video and NOOK Catalog content, Nook HD and Nook HD+ offer virtually endless reading and entertainment at customers’ fingertips,” company noted in a press release.
Talking about Nook HD first, it is the successor of Nook Tablet and comes with 7-Inch 1440x900p display, 1.3GHz dual-core TI OMAP 4470 processor, 1GB RAM, and microSD card slot.
Pricing and availability of Nook HD in US, UK:
It is now available for pre-order in two colors, “Snow” and “Smoke” in the United States at just $199 for an 8GB model and only $229 for a 16GB version. On the other hand, pre-orders will begin next month for customers in the United Kingdom for £159 for an 8GB model and £189 for a 16GB version.
Coming to Nook HD+, this 9-inch tablet comes with 1920x1280p display, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM and microSD card slot.
Pricing and availability of Nook HD+ in US, UK:
It is now available on pre-order in 16GB for $269 and 32GB for $299 in the United States, while UK customers will be able to pre-order 16GB version for £229 and 32GB for £269 next month.
