Asus India has announced the launch of quad core tablet Transformer Prime in India today. Priced at INR 49,999, it will come with Android 3.2 pre-loaded and will get Ice Cream Sandwich via an update soon. Company has also bundled the keyboard dock with the tablet in this price.
To remind you, Transformer Prime features NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor, 1GB RAM, 10.1 inch Super IPS Plus display, 64GB of internal memory, 8MP rear camera, front camera and Wi-Fi connectivity. There is no word on the pricing of 32GB version or whether company would even release that in the country.
Looking at this price, I am not sure if Asus is going to get many buyers for the tablet. How many of you are thinking to get this quad core beast at INR 50K?

Are they kidding us? Let’s see how many they sell at this price
Spending 10k More and buying a mac air is a far better deal.
iPad2 starting at 30k. And people wonder why Android tablets are not selling.
This tablet is available in US for 750$ including Dock. Here they are selling it for almost 1100$. Until the price drop, very few people will buy it. It should have been at about Rs. 40,000.
This ASUS is great, I like the idea with the additional keyboard, but the price… They’d better think about it once again))
This is an introductory price. The price will fall soon
a wifi version for 50k???…,wait fr ipad 3,,,
Ridiculous!! 50k is just too much… might as well buy a laptop for this price!
Too expensive for India.
I would prefer the three in one concept of the PadFone.
lol…joke of the day 🙂
hope ya they will launch a gold plated version with a 1 lakh prize tag…..lol
This is sheer non sense. Why they had to release just the 64 GB version in India.
price will fall soon….
Ridiculously overpriced. Is Asus blind to the reality of the Indian market? I think that 35k is an upper limit for these devices.
CHUTIYA SAMAZ RAKHA HE KYA? SALA IS SE KAM MEIN TO IPAD AA JATA HE
considering this price for prime, it makes no point to wait for padfone….
Too costly for everyone
at this price i can get
ipad 2 wifi only = rs 30000
nexus s = rs 20000
i can get both the latest os thus
Its available at Rs. 37,634 (without dock)only don’t post wrong info..
@aks who told you or whr did your read about the “without dock” price. Asus is not officially launching Prime without dock in India..

Still it’s way too overpriced and the main feature is its dock……….
They themselves can’t rectify their device, like screen bleed in previous transformers and on the other hand they launch new tabs in such short intervals. Have they lost their mind? I was an Asus fan but after such a pricing it simply looks like a rip off. I’m no longer a fan of Asus back to Samsung 🙁
