We have been waiting for a handy tool to download Android app APK files directly from Google Play Store for a long time and now thanks to dev “redphx”, there is a chrome extension that helps us do exactly that.

That are a few steps that you need to complete before you are able to download Android apps directly to your PC but these are pretty easy. You can find the full instructions and extension download at link given below.

We have tried it and it works, it even helps you download apps that are not available in your country like Google Currents, Google Music, and Chrome for Android. Download any Android app from Google Play Store and transfer it to your tablet, phone and enjoy.

This is a boon for devices, which don’t have direct access to Google Play Store and this helps a lot.

What do you need?

  • Latest version of Chrome (on any OS – Windows, Linux, Mac)
  • Your Google Play account ID and Password ( I am using a test account to be on the safer side)
  • Your Device ID (Install this app to get it or you can follow instructions given at the download link)
  • To disable SSL error warnings on your Chrome. (Instructions given at the download link).

Download APK Downloader extension from here.

Once you have finished all the steps, all you have to do is – open Google Play Store and go to the required Android app page and click on Download APK link next to install button and voila.. your APK file will be downloaded.

Try it and lets us know in comments, if it worked for you.

      1. That’s bcoz from this extension ..paids are also downloadable ..& thousands of ppl downloaded that in 12hrs..so when developers found out that..he deactivated himself!!

  2. Manoj makes sense. Android will come up with an online screening app soon to locate such apps and am guessing that’ll be the end of that. Not recommended .. permissions fly out of the window.

  3. Can not find the “APK Downloader App Page” so could not enter the details asked such as
Device ID etc. Actually there is no option for that. Thank you.

    1. I installed Version 1.2 now it was Version 1.1 before, so it has that “option” option now. But it still says “You must disable SSL error warnings in able to use this extension. Read more” though I did everything as said, put e-mail, password and device ID correctly. How to fix?
