Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830I getting Android 2.3.6 update in India
Samsung has started rolling out Android 2.3.6 update for Galaxy Ace S5830I in India. Update is now available via Samsung Kies. Although if you are adventurous type, you can also grab the firmware file from sammobile and flash it manually via ODIN.
There is no official change-log available right now; we will update the post once it is available. Do not worry, if you don’t get the update right-away, as updates are always pushed in batches, it will be released for your device in coming days.

i check for update with the help of kies to update my Galaxy ace ,but no update available via kies.
@Amit Do check the model number of your Galaxy Ace.. this update is for S5830I, not S5830
what’s the difference between S5830I and S5830?

my current firmaware is 2.3.4 ace s5830….when i connect to samsung kies it shows latest firmwaze installed
Try Settings–>about phone–>software update–>update.A 14 Mb file will be downloaded and it will take about 15-20 mins after the downloading the package.
jut fooling around no updates are available . pls request to samsung on offical site to bring the updates soon.
Its now available OTA in India. The lock screen is changed to 4.0 style, few changes in icons and mostly the performance is improved… still trying to figure out what are all the changes in 2.3.6.. OTA download size was 14mb, used wifi so it was quick installation took about 10 to 15 minutes…
i still hvnt got the OTA update on my phone…plzz help…hv been waiting for so long now..
Updated the phone via kies to 2.3.6. Found out that mass storage mode is not working and FM Radio is not working. Not acceptable samsung.
S5830i has bluetooth version 3 , 832 mhz (same as galaxy ace plus) gorilla glass n the graphic chip is also different 🙂
