Acer Iconia Tab getting Android 3.1 update today

Acer has confirmed that Iconia Tab A500 will get the Android 3.1 update starting today. It is an over-the-air update, so users will get a notification of their tablets to download and install the update.

This update seems to be globally available, but we are trying to get more confirmation on the availability of the update.

Android 3.1 update brings increased system performance, better support for USB, Bluetooth devices, HTML5 video content support, additional video file format support, improved Wi-Fi networking, and Microsoft Exchange server support (ActiveSync).

  1. Got the update but it is not 3.1.
It is 3.01 and no added features.
Not sure what is going on, may be pre-update so you can get the real update.

  2. United kingdom still not got it either and its july 6th at 12.48pm. Why say it will be available when it wont be

  3. My a500 is updating to 3.1 as I type, the 3.0.1 update was released early June so maybe if you haven’t got that yet you’re having to wait a little longer for 3.1?

  5. Update available and installed in France at 21:00 (local time)
