Riding on Android, ZTE looks to capture more market in US, Europe

Chinese telecommunication equipment manufacturer ZTE is looking to get more smartphone market share by leaving behind rivals in Europe and US. Company is betting on the rise in demand of Android smartphones.

ZTE expects that is combined market share in the two regions may increase to 10 percent in the next 12 to 18 months, stated ZTE’s GM, Nordic countries Thomas Granstrom. Its market share was only 5pc at the end of 2010 in these two regions.

Company will soon launch Base Tab in Germany with E-Plus, it’s a co-branded version of ZTE Light.

  1. Many of these manufacturers would probably do very well building their own devices and going straight to market thus skipping the design companies. They would be able to offer better hardware at a significantly lower price. . . why they haven’t done it sooner is beyond me.
