Next Nexus phone gets detailed [Rumor]

Waiting for next Google Nexus phone, well BGR today posted some juicy details about the smartphone. According to the blog, next Google phone will be probably called Nexus 4G, which looks highly unlikely as it won’t support 4G in every country.

There is still no confirmed word on the manufacturer, but the alleged specifications of the phone are out.

  • Next-gen 1.2/1.5 GHz dual core TI OMAP 4460 or ultra low-power 28nm Krait-based Qualcomm Snapdragon
  • 1 GB RAM
  • 1080p recording and playback
  • 720p HD display
  • 5MP camera with advanced sensor, 1 MP front cam
  • Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
  • No capacitive or hard menu buttons

Next Nexus phone is expected to be available in time for Thanksgiving.

  1. I hope they minimize the bezel and logos on the front of the device and have the LCD edge to edge at aroudn 4.5″.

I would rather see a quad-core chip with better battery life than a faster chip. The speed of the chips for handsets are plenty fast enough, we just need to maximize the battery better.

Nonetheless, all in all it sounds like a decent device and for those of us that want stock Android and updates asap with long term support it’s really the only choice at this point in time.

  2. Considering they are alienating the more cost effective carriers..this better be a world phone, or I’m going to have to skip out on it….
