Motorola announces Xoom for India, coming later this month

Motorola India has finally announced that it will be launching Xoom in India later this month. Company is expected to launch the WiFi only version in the country, as 3G version hasn’t been released anywhere apart from United States. It is the second Honeycomb powered tablet to be available in the country, as Acer has already started selling Iconia Tab A500.

Motorola did not give a fixed date, but we are expecting it to be available in the last week of this month. Company press release also stated the Android version present in the device as 3.0, which means you might have to update it to 3.1 OTA or via an Update app after the launch.

“Motorola XOOM redefines what the tablet experience should be. Designed from the ground up with the consumer in mind, it provides more ways to have fun, connect with friends and stay productive while on the go,” said Rajan Chawla, Mobile Devices business country head for Sales and Operations, India and South West Asia, Motorola Mobility.

Motorola Xoom Quick Features:

  • 10.1 inch HD display
  • Android 3.0
  • 1 GHz nVIDIA Tegra 2 Dual core processor
  • 1GB RAM
  • 5 MP rear-facing camera with flash captures HD video, and a 2 MP front-facing camera

    1. Dear Karthik,

What do you mean by source, aren’t we the source of news for you. I know there are lots of spam/crap websites/blogs out there, who post anything they want. Don’t worry you are safe here. is not another “ripoff Indian website”. We only publish the most credible and authentic information.

  1. What about Atrix? The only Tegra2 device to play 720p flash videos. It was supposed to come with XooM wasn’t it. I think it can do well in market with a decent price tag, Lower than galaxy SII around 25k.

  2. have a lot of good info. I am from US and follow several other Android blogs but I can definitely confirm that often has reliable and authentic info. I appreciate it and please keep up a good job!

  3. i agree with you gaurav …so far it had been a good experience with news credibility…
hope that it will get better & better with time. all the best for that….

  4. Gaurav and his team have been doing a very good job! This is probably the only dedicated Indian Android blog which has credible news/information!
