HTC Desire will have to sacrifice apps to get Gingerbread update

After taking the u-turn to announce that HTC Desire will get Android 2.3 update, Taiwanese manufacturer HTC today explained how it is making Gingerbread available on Desire.

According to company, it will remove few apps that it bundles with HTC Sense to make the necessary space. Earlier this week, company created huge uproar by saying that it will not be able to update Desire because of the lack of internal memory.

HTC Statement:

To resolve Desire’s memory issue and enable the upgrade to Gingerbread, we will cut select apps from the release.

Company will soon be announcing more details on the update availability.
