Samsung has officially announced that it will start rolling out Android 2.3 update to a series of Galaxy devices from mid-May. Samsung will be updating Galaxy S, Galaxy Tab, and Galaxy Ace/Fit/Mini/Gio. Galaxy Mini is also called Galaxy Pop is some markets, so don’t worry Pop will also get updated to Gingerbead.
The update roll out will begin from UK and Nordic countries and gradually continue to other European markets, North America, Southeast Asia, the Middle East Asia, Africa and rest of the world.
As usual, company is pushing the update via Samsung Kies, so get ready with Kies set up on your computer to get the update as soon as it starts rolling out in your region.
The upgrade from Froyo 2.2 to Gingerbread 2.3 offers an even greater user experience, with features including:
· Faster Performance – Multimedia content now has a lower CPU consumption rate, while support for more powerful 3D Graphics enables an enhanced mobile gaming experience.
· Upgraded Usability – The user interface has been improved, enabling faster access and control and a more intuitive user experience. Users will also benefit from improved copy-and-paste functionality.

Galaxy SL i9003 is scheduled to be updated first/second week of July according to tweet by samsung mobile India.

I have Samsung Galaxy Pop(Called MINI also in some countries). Please let us know how to do that safely. My Earlier Nokia 3110 became useless after a software update that I was doing using its Software installed on my laptop. I do not want to loose my droid!!! Please help!!
