Gingerbread for LG Optimus 2X arriving in June-July

Gingerbread for LG Optimus 2XLG has started giving the time-frame for Gingerbread update for its dual core Android smartphone Optimus 2X. According to LG Denmark support website, the update will be pushed sometime in June or July.

It further stated that more details about the update will be shared closer to the release date. LG Optimus 2X, which company touts as the first dual core Android smartphone in the world, comes with Android 2.2 on-board. Keeping in Mind Company’s previous track record about software updates, we are taking this with a pinch of salt.

While the smartphone has got rave reviews and is being liked by many, the upcoming Gingerbread update will surely make the deal sweeter. Gingerbread update might not be a huge software update, but still brings various UI changes, and performance improvements.

Other features of Optimus 2X include 4 inch display, 8 MP primary camera with a 1.3 Mp front cam, 8GB internal storage and 1500 mAh battery.

  1. I think the 512MB RAM might create an issue in running apps after few months . . .
    Also the OS isn’t that great infact many apps get crashed . . .
    But rest everything is best like NVIDIA tegra2 chipset , camera is ok just that the video capture is at 1024@24fps . . .
    Overall it’s OK phone but if lg puts some more efforts on it , this phone might be the BEST . . .
