Lenovo LePad tablet and IdeaPad U1 Hybrid coming to India this year
Lenovo is likely to introduce Android/Windows powered U1 IdeaPad and LePad hybrid in India sometime this year, Lenovo India MD Amar Babu said.
UI IdeaPad is a Windows laptop with detachable touch screen that functions as a standalone Android tablet called LePad. It was unveiled in China a year ago but did not materialize, and recently returned at Consumer Electronics Show with new OS in the form of Android.
Lenovo LePad features a 10.1-inch touch screen, 3G, front-facing camera for video chat, 1.3GHz Snapdragon in the LePad and 1.2GHz Intel Core i5-540UM in the U1 base, with an optional i7 available, up to eight hours of battery life, Android 2.2. Lenovo has customized the LePad slate with an optimized Android media experience on LePad’s larger screen size, starting with an attractive 4-pane easy to use interface and a distinctive Lenovo developed push service that gives you your email, news, and other content in real time, eliminating the need to constantly open a browser and log in.
LePad is expected to roll out in China by March.
The two devices will enter Indian only after a critical volume is achieved in China, Babu added. Even as Lenovo gears up to launch these products in India, it is strengthening its existence in the already present categories, reported DNA.
