It seems India might be getting its first dual-SIM Android phone next week. We know, there are a lot of Dual-SIM fans out there looking to grab some Android phones.

According to The Mobile Indian, Motorola India will be launching Dual-SIM/Dual Band Motorola Glam AKA XT800 next week in the country. Motorola Glam supports one GSM and one CDMA SIM, so users can go for any telecom provider in the country. We had reported about the possible XT800 India launch last year, but it seems Motorola was waiting for 2011.

Motorola XT800 was first launched in China last year, and then landed in Korea. An ungraded version XT800+ with 1 Ghz processor and Android 2.2 has already reached China, so why will Motorola launch a super old phone in India?

We will get the answer next week. Coming to the smartphone Motorola Glam aka XT800, It is expected to launch with Android 2.2, 3.7 inch display, TI OMAP3430 550 Mhz processor, 256 MB RAM, CDMA 800/1900, Dual mode, dual standby, GSM 850/900/1800/1900, 5 MP camera, and the usual Bluetooth, WiFi, sensors. We are expecting a price around 23K INR.

  1. This is really a good move from Motorola. Motorola Glam might just be one of the first Android phones from CDMA users in India. I am on reliance and I am eagerly waiting for this phone.

  2. This phone has quite a prospect, bcoz there is not one decent cdma android phone available in india plus its a dual sim which is icing on the cake. If motorola could launch some rs 10,000+ cdma(plz non- resistive screen) android in india, it would be boon for indian cdma users, bcoz, reliance and tata indicom phone lineup sucks( overpriced, subpar, limited).

What are your thoughts on it, Gaurav.

  3. Well its gonna be extremely overpriced…another site says its gonna be launched at Rs.31999….thats too much…you can get the galaxy S for that price…and now cdma users can change to gsm using MNP.
