Update – Paid apps have reached India. The prices of application are in INR but user have to finally pay them in USD only. Which is good for developers, and in a way for consumers too.
So, this official now. We have been reporting about this for quiet a while and Google yesterday confirmed that users from a total of 32 countries would now be able to buy applications from Android Market.
New Additions in Paid Apps support:
Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Israel, Mexico, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Singapore, Sweden, and Taiwan.
The support for the paid apps, will be rolled out over the next 2 weeks. While Google has also increased the number of countries, whose developers will be able to see application in Android Market. Support for paid application sales is now expanded to developers in 29 countries, with today’s additions of Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Hong Kong, Ireland, Israel, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland and Taiwan.
“We remain committed to continuing to improve the buyer and seller experiences on Android Market. Among other initiatives, we look forward to bringing the Android Market paid apps ecosystem to even more countries in the coming months,” wrote Eric Chu, Android Developer Ecosystem in a blog post on Android Developers blog.
